My 11 year old daughter, Sofie, notified me I am a "hoarder" and had a problem when she saw my very unruly bin of scraps.
Which made me laugh because actually, I think I throw quite a lot out, much to my husband's annoyance. However, I did emply Sofie to help me organize my cardstock scraps into something more than a bin of odds and ends.
Thanks to my good friend, Diana, who gave us this idea using inexpensive organizers from Kmart:
Rob added extra shelves to my cupboard and we made a folder for each color. This is going to make using these bits up sooooo much easier!
Sofie's job was to stick all these labels on, which caused much moaning and groaning, but it really wasn't such a big job.
And don't all parents know the moaning is designed to elicit sympathy and therefore some sort of extra reward? Sigh
I'm very pleased with our efforts. This will make using (and finding!) the scraps much more efficient. Bottom line: less extra stuff and I'm being more economical, too.
What ideas do you have for sorting out your cardstock scraps?

This looks great Jacque. Very organised. I have a bag full of scraps which makes it hard to find the right colour. Maybe I should try something like this. I may not be able to have one for every colour. Perhaps I could put a couple of colours together. Could I ask what size are they? Are they sold in sets?

These are sold individually at Kmart in the stationery section. Not sure what they are called – paper holders? They are about $3 each I think. A4 size
