I just loved making this little mini album with the Book Treat Boxes for my daughter! I loved Elizabeth Price’s idea of creating a window on the front of the box, perfect for showcasing a photo, hinting at what’s inside.
When I saw the salt and pepper shaker in the Perfect Pairs stamp set, I just had to get it to use on an album for her (a joke I have with her from when she was a child. Read on – I’ll share this silly story at the bottom of this post). And this was the perfect opportunity!
Of course, you can substitute an image that is suitable for your recipient or topic.
Open up the box for an accordion mini album, ready for embellishing and photos. I’m going to let the happy couple finish putting in photos, perhaps for their first anniversary in a few months. For now, I’ve selected papers from a few different paper packs to cover all the surfaces for a really happy explosion of color. (Sofie chose the color palette).
I heat embossed the salt and pepper shakers with Black Embossing Powder to make them really dark and a bit shiny. It might seem a bit random, but we do a lot of silly in our family.

*And now for the story: I should first explain that my previously married last name was Pedersen, so Sofie’s maiden name is Sofie Pedersen. When Sofie was maybe 7 or 8, I took her up to the corner to a little cafe for a mother/daughter date. I was a single mother, and eating out was a real treat. And to make the day even more special, she was absolutely thrilled that somehow the cafe “must have known we were coming” because they had put her initials on the salt and pepper shakers!
I decided that day that when she got married, I’d have made a salt and pepper shaker set with an S and an H on them, which I did. So when I saw the salt and pepper shaker images, I just had to use them as the “perfect pair” images on this project.
