Welcome! Well, we are back in lockdown here in New Zealand, so I hope to do some catching up on my blogging! Today’s share is a cute baby card I made with the Counting Sheep stamp set on last week’s Facebook Live:
The words in the Counting Sheep stamp set are more general and birthday, so I wanted to show a bit more versatility by making a baby card with these sweet images.
This happy sheep is on a background of Soft Succulent, a greyed out blue/green color that is perfect for any gender of baby. Plus, I like that the color is a little bit unexpected on a baby card, but still looks so cute.
But I wanted to give this guy a go in the Fresh Freesia as well. This time I’ve used a Basic Gray base and added one of the Loose Flowers over the ear.
The background paper is from the Penguin Playmates pack. Even if you don’t love one side of the papers, I love that the other side is usually quite plain, which makes them so useful and not limited to the theme of the more distinctive print.
I used a Blending Brush to create just a soft background for our sheep. I still love my watercolor washes, but using a Blending Brush gives the option of using Basic White (a true white) as the background paper. See this video about what paper to use when.
In the video below, I’ll also show you the super easy way to make this double bow! I know most people struggle with how to tie and use ribbon, so I hope this helps you.
