I had so much fun designing with Design Spark Sketch #4 and the gorgeous, gorgeous new Beautiful Gallery papers! (coming 6 May, 2025) They were a great choice for this sketch, which features two large background pieces. It’s also a great way to use and showcase those scenic prints – keep them the star of the show while adding a few embellishments.

I started with the basic layout, and picked my personal favorite print in the pack – these gorgeous white roses (or similar; I’m not that good at identifying flowers). I’ve paired this one up with the new Cloud Cover and Secret Sea cardstock, which work so nicely together.
I just added a fairly simple word label and kept those flowers the focal point. Oh, I just love how soft some of the prints are; I’ve stamped the words in Secret Sea right onto the back of this floral print, making use of the scraps. Love!

Next, I used the horizontal variation of the sketch for this little village print. This break in the print still keeps the scene intact, but makes it much more interesting.
This particular print pairs perfectly with Basic Beige, a must in the craft stash, in my opinion.

Next I moved to the third variation: the square card. (This variation could also be used for a square scrapbooking layout). I saved this potted flower print for this size so I could capture almost the entire image.
White is a bit too white for the Beautiful Gallery paper pack; Basic Beige, or even Very Vanilla, are a more coordinating option.

This beautiful sailboat image was another one that I thought suited better to the square size. I just love this one.
I used Secret Sea for the background, and embossed it with the Soft Waves embossing folder. As the first sample above, I used the Side B of the papers for the tags. The colors are soft, but just the right tones to coordinate perfectly.

And for the fourth variation, I made the slimline card, and these white flowers on Mossy Meadow are my second favorite print in the pack. I’d really love to use these on a scrapbooking page.
I dressed this one up a little more with a double label and some Basic Beige Ribbon.

If you enjoy card sketches or often find yourself with a bit of creative block, Design Spark is made for you!
Each of the 30 sketches has four versions: vertical, horizontal, square, and slimline. But the real bonus is that each version comes with measurements, so there’s no figuring it out. Simply cut and play!
