This month the Global Stampin’ Video Hop team is focusing on vellum techniques! I use vellum quite a bit, so this was a fun challenge for me. I selected to showcase coloring on vellum for a softer, more muted effect.
My project today features the brand new (coming 7 November) Garden Meadow bundle (part of the Meandering Meadow suite). I thought the wheelbarrow was so cute, and wanted to use that.
For the first version, I white heat embossed the wheelbarrow on the vellum, and then colored on the back. I do like this soft effect.
When stamping on vellum, I recommend you use either heat embossing or use a solvent ink, such as Jet Black Staz-On.
For the second version, I did use the Jet Black Staz-On. This creates a sharper look with more clear detail, but does add a bit more contrast to the overall project. I used Stampin’ Blends for the coloring, and the coloring is the same no matter which way you choose to stamp the image.
It’s fairly subtle in the photos, but I did use the Eucalyptus folder (pack of two) for the background. This is a more narrow folder, but I quite liked the effect of embossing just on 2/3 of the card front.
It’s another nice way to use the narrow embossing folders.
