HI friends! I hope you’ve had a wonderful, relaxing, sunny weekend! I was able to spend some hours with some of my team of demonstrators this Saturday, which always leaves me feeling energized and part of “something bigger”.
I was struggling with a migraine much of last week, so I apologize in being a bit tardy in posting. Today’s share is a remake of a project I made during SaleABration, but this time using the Touches of Texture stamp set. This set has a lovely mix of all sorts of images designed to layer together.
Although this set is great for layering, I kept this project relatively “clean”. The squares are cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits (such a useful set of dies!) and then stamped with the flower image from the Touches of Texture stamp set.
Each square was then watercoloured using the new Watercolour Pencils. I absolutely love working with these! You can make the colouring light, dark, variegated, shaded or you can mix and blend the colours. It’s so much fun and so easy! All you need are the pencils and an Aqua Painter.
I had a few leftover kits, so I played around with the colours a bit. On this one, I made a monochromatic card with just that pop of Real Red. I like the look of the brown flowers and grey leaves. It’s quite vintage looking. I will use this as an inspiration piece for my May Online Class (Free with any order or $14.95), which will be all about Monochromatic projects.
The background was created using the ever-popular Hexagon Embossing Folder, which is carrying over into the next catalogue (yay!).
I’m teaching an awesome Mother’s Day (or can be made general) project this week in both Pakuranga on Monday evening and in Papakura on Wednesday evening. Please join us! You can see my full listing of classes for 2017 HERE.
Thanks for stopping by!
