Ornamental Christmas Quick Watercoloring Technique
Today’s share is a bright and non-traditional Christmas project with pink trees from the Ornamental Christmas stamp set. I actually love pink, silver, and white for Christmas. I want to share with you a variation of the watercolor technique I shared in yesterday’s post, this time with a monochromatic effect.

I made this into a simple straddle card fun fold. Create a gap on the card front, then straddle the trees across the gap to join the top and bottom together. It’s a really straightforward concept that really adds a nice effect.
I used the Peaceful Greenery folder for that pretty, leafy border. This is by far my most used folder at the moment!

The photo doesn’t quite do it justice, but the trees are a nice mix of Pretty in Pink and Strawberry Slush. The open design of the Ornamental Christmas trees are perfect for this.
Here’s how I did it:
- Heat emboss the trees in Silver on Watercolor Paper.
- Wet the tree with plain water with a Water Painter.
- Pick up a diluted drop of Pretty in Pink ink (from the ink refill bottle), and drop it onto the tree. Repeat and let spread.
- Do the same with the Strawberry Slush, but likely just one or two drops of the darker color.
- Let dry naturally or use a heat tool on the low setting for a different effect.
