I love a both the fresh look and the vintage, layered look, so you get a bit of both on this blog! Today I want to share a more vintage style Christmas card with the beautiful Boughs of Holly (or the Leaves of Holly bundle) Suite.
I find that Brick & Mortar embossing folder seems to go with just about everything, and the Leaves of Holly bundle is no exception. I’ve inked up the bricks just a little with Crumb Cake ink for a bit of depth.
The gorgeous green, watercolor effect, printed paper is right from the Boughs of Holly paper collection. There are both more specific images, such as poinsettias and trees, in this paper pack, as well as more neutral prints to coordinate.
The Distressed Gold paper is a wonderful companion to the Boughs of Holly papers, with it’s texture print (and not too shiny for a toned down effect).
Don’t feel you have to match up the two layers to the leaves perfectly; an offset look can give a little more “fullness” to your arrangement.
In my live video, my viewers voted to try a version with the red berries (just a small splash of color). Which do you prefer? I think I still prefer the Rich Razzleberry (the back sample), both I do like both. The rest of the card is very neutrals, so those berries could be any colour at all.
