Today’s share is inspired by Cathie Caines, and her happy card. I’ve changed it up just a bit using the newer This Birthday Piggy stamp set and adding a few layers and details.
One of the reasons I love watercoloring is it turns out differently every single time. It’s such fun to to see how the inks, water, and paper will react when the variables change just slightly.
The background here is made up of Coastal Cabana and Parakeet Party inks, a happy combination of bright colors.
I’ve embossed the pig, cake, and balloon with black embossing powder. Heat embossing the outline can be helpful as it provides a little “wall” to help contain the color. It also adds a bit of shine and a rich, black outline.
