Beautiful Hot Air Balloon in Sunset Blended Ink Background

This month the All Star team is featuring the Lighter than Air Suite, which includes the Hot Air Balloon bundle. I immediately had the idea of creating a sunset or sunrise blended ink background and stamping the balloons in silhouette:

I used Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, and Copper Clay for the background. The colors are applied with Blending Brushes for a very smooth application.

Next, I stamped the two balloons in Memento Tuxedo Black once the background was completely dry.

I used the grassy stamp from the Grassy Grove stamp set along the bottom to give the card front both a bit of a border and also to add more interest to the whole scene.

I absolutely love how the background paper turned out. I used the Distressed Tile Embossing folder, and used a couple of ink application techniques to create my own “Designer Series Paper” to match the project. I’ll share this and even more techniques in my upcoming Embossing Folder Techniques Class.
