Hello, friends! Today’s share are a couple of cards I made with the “rejects” when I was designing a card for my recent Masking Techniques class. Even though the stamped and inked portions weren’t quite what I wanted for the class, I finished them off into cards of their own:

Those wonderful pine trees are from the Grassy Grove stamp set, a great one if you like to make nature cards or to create backgrounds. And the birds came from the On the Ocean stamp set.
All the images are stamped in black to give a silhouette effect against the inked background. This is an effective and easy way to add detail without detracting too much from all the effort and colors put into the landscape.

For this card, the “reject” piece I had was much smaller, so I cut it down into squares for a faux windowpane effect. Doing something like this also distracts from any little imperfections . . .

The colors I used here were quite a bold deviance from my typical color palettes, and I quite like it. The Copper Clay adds a lot of warmth to the sky; I’ve found this one to be my most used in-color so far.
