Not just for Christmas, this is a fun gift idea for any time of the year!
I have a dear friend who has been diagnosed with cancer. She's been in the hospital for surgery this last week, and my dad and I resolved to visit her every day. Each day I took in a small gift – chapstick for her dry lips, an extra blanket to keep warm, a truffle, a book to read. One of the days we took in a vase with some scented flowers to fill her space with lovliness. I cut some flowers for her and found a little vase at an op shop. Dad scrubbed it shiny clean, and we were ready to go. I just added this one last detail – one of Stampin Up's rub-ons from the Cherish collection right onto the glass. It worked beautifully! (You get a sheet of black and a sheet of white in each pack.) I gave it a quick coat with clear nail polish so she could wash it without it coming off, too. Now my $2 vase is something unique and special.
Try this with little hand mirrors, glass jars, wine glasses, etc. I'd love to see what you come up with!

What a wonderful gift. One that will be treasured, no matter how much it didn’t cost, just because you took the time to personalise it.

Thanks, Diana. Yes, that’s the appeal and the beauty of this craft, isn’t it? Taking the time to make something special for those we love.
