One of the most useful stamp sets in the catalog right now is the Watercolor Shapes set (in my opinion). It doesn’t appear very exciting, but I find it to be very useful for creating a quick background without masking or painting.
(I love both those techniques, but if you’re looking for quick now and again, this one is for you).
To create the background for this project, I’ve stamped the rectangle image in the Watercolor Shapes set with Soft Succulent, then kept stamping it until the ink ran out. Then I repeated going in the other direction.
I didn’t line them up perfectly on purpose; I quite liked this look of stacked bricks that were just a bit askew for interest. It also makes for a very quick idea if there’s no measuring or extra tools involved.
The flower die is from the Meadows Dies, a great set of silhouette flowers. I used the retired Evening Evergreen vellum for this sample. If you don’t have any of that on hand, I’d suggest using either Soft Succulent or Evening Evergreen cardstock.
(This has been in the queue to blog for quite a while).
