Cute Rock and Roll Acorns with Gathering Moments
It’s October, and it’s time for a blog hop with the All Star Design team. This month we are featuring the Gathering Together Suite, one that was recently released, just in time for the northern hemisphere’s Autumn season.

My project to share with you today was inspired by a cheery card by Sandy McIver. She’s used different products and images, but I loved her overall concept. Adapted with the Gathering Moment stamp set and the Gathering Leaves folder, here is my version:

There are two things that are really fun about this project. First, when using a small image over and over, a little detail can make them look different to each other. In this case, I used the good old Rock and Roll* technique to add a bit of color to each acorn.
*Rock and Roll in summary: Ink the acorn in Pecan Pie. Lightly roll or tap the top part of the acorn in a second color. Stamp. Stamp some extras so you can pick the best ones.

Second, the Gathering Leaves folder is one of those extra large ones, perfect for bigger projects. But it’s also a good size for rotating your cardstock so the embossing comes out on a diagonal. This gives it a whole new effect! Love it.
If you’d like even more project ideas with the Gathering Together Suite, the All Star Design Team has created a Gathering Together 12 Project Video Class, just for you! Ready for immediate download for just $22.50 NZD (about $14 USD):
