If you love paper crafting, scrapbook pages are a wonderful, personalized way to not only preserve your memories, but to celebrate and show love to special people. Some of the people who come to my classes frame them for home decor or use them as very special gifts.
Today’s share is a 12×12 double page scrapbook layout, featuring the Abigail Rose papers and the hexagon dies from the Beautiful Shapes die set:
I followed a sketch challenge for this layout. Sketches are a great starting point when scrapbooking. A blank 12×12 page can sometimes feel daunting. A sketch helps me to at least have a concept, even if the finished design evolves significantly.
You can find tons of sketches on Pinterest.
The crafters who come to my scrapbook classes prefer double page layouts, so I created a second page with the same elements. A second page is often a good place to add a few more photos and use fewer embellishments.
A few people use a double page layout from class as the “cover”, and then add all the other photos of the event using Stampin’ Up! pocket pages. This is a great way to at least get all the photos organized and preserved.
I wanted to use more “solid” flowers on this layout, and the Summer Shadows dies were just the right shape and size. I love the more neutral background with the gorgeous Abigail Rose papers, with most/all of the color on the flowers.
I used Petal Pink cardstock and the Rose Gold foil for these, for a rich finish.
