How to Alter Your Printed Papers with Alcohol Markers and Blending Brushes

I wanted to create a project that went away from the all pinks just to show versatility for those of you who don’t like pink so much. The True Love Designer Series Paper is GREAT for coloring and altering; it’s useful to have some black and white prints in your stash to mix in with other prints and to alter as needed:

The focus and technique on this pretty project is the altering of the True Love Designer Series Paper. The flowers are beautifully printed (after being hand drawn by the Stampin’ Up! artists), just ready for any color you wish to use! I’ve used Seaside Spray, Rococo Rose, Old Olive, and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends.

It still felt a bit start, so I used So Saffron ink and a Blending Brush to add some yellow coming up from the bottom. I debated using Smoky Slate ink; I think either would be beautiful with a very different final effect.

Basic Black cardstock and White Embossing Powder are almost always suitable for your words. This smallest Stitched Rectangle looked a little lost on the print, so I layered it with a larger die cut of vellum to give it more “weight”.

You could use any number of die cuts for the vellum; I just used what was already open and there on my table: the label from the Pierced Blooms Dies.
