Peace and Joy Circle Flourish Card! Video Tutorial!
I had fun making and remaking this card, based on various other samples I’ve seen on Pinterest! Today’s share is the card I made in my Facebook Live a few days ago and features a fun swirl pattern for a really striking look:
I think this might be the first Christmas card I’ve posted in 2020?! I love the ease of the word dies and stamps in the Peace & Joy bundle. However, this card design could easily be adapted to any occasion.
It’s not my usual style, and that’s why I wanted to try it!
I asked on my Facebook Page for some colour suggestions, picked someone’s choice of three, and made this card live with my viewers offering suggestions as we went. It was great!
I chose these colours because it’s an unusual combination – and I do love a challenge! I’ve used Poppy Parade, Cinnamon Cider, and Soft Seafoam.
You will need some circle punches and/or circle dies to make this style of card. I used the Stitched Shapes and the Layering Circles dies for this one.

You created some very pretty Christmas cards with the Swirls made out of circles! However, I always struggle with the measurements when given in inches. I’ll watch the video you put on YouTube as often as needed because the cards ánd the colors are not your traditional ones – awesome! I love those stitched dies, but they’re obviously quite “in” and may well go “out” soonish as it’s like all dies have stitched edges nowadays – as in our Love of Leaves Bundle, to name one. It happened to eyelets and brads and even paper tearing (though I still really like torn edges!) and so many other embellishments and techniques. Look at the Slim Line cards!
Did I understand you correctly that you’re an American? When you moved to NZ, did you have a culture shock? I have lived abroad, but always with the plan to go back to The Netherlands. Things, situations and people change, though. Our daughter and only child met a wonderful Frenchman while on vacation in France, moved there and married him 2 years ago. The only true tie we have to our native country is my mom, but she’s almost 89 and not to keen on growing much older. When she passes and we’ve finished cleaning up and selling her house, we’ll move to France to live near “the kids”. Not that I’m looking forward to missing my mom, but I can totally look forward to living near (especially) the grandkids. The mixed family has a total of 7, 4 of whom are “bonus” grandchildren.
Anyhoo, enough blabla!

Hi Ineke! Yes I was born in the United States, but immigrated to New Zealand about 16 years ago. I did have culture shock at first – everything felt so difficult and unfamiliar. But now this is home and I am a citizen of New Zealand. I’ve also married a Kiwi man. You can change the inches to cm with many online tools – that makes it nice and easy for you without having to measure or do math. 🙂 I hope you have fun with this one! 🙂 xx
