A few weeks ago we had a big team day here in Auckland for my team of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. Part of our gatherings usually includes a swap – we each make x number of cards and trade them around. Today’s share is what I made for my swap using the Wise Men from Afar stamp set:
I love how these turned out! I’ve clear embossed the wise men here on Very Vanilla cardstock, and then inked over them with various shades of brown ink (Crumb Cake and Early Espresso used here).
And I’ve been using this Berry Burst Crinkle ribbon like crazy – it’s such a great pop of colour and ties so nicely!
One of the wise men got a little bit of Berry Burst accent on his robe, too. I thought this was a nice, subtle way to tie the colours together.
The background is called Faux Patina. Basically it’s “imperfect embossing with a metallic colour”. And that’s pretty much it! I’ve used gold here, but brushed the majority of it off so it’s only there in patches. I like how this looks! And it’s a perfect little technique for an ancient story involving gold!
And HERE is Custard helping me out with my swaps. She’s such a good assistant.
