I had so much fun creating this bright, tropical double layout! Inspired by Raquel Bowman in an online class I’m taking, I took her idea of the sun and bright colors and used them with Stampin’ Up! products:
I would not usually use such bright colors, especially all together. But I really do like it! One of the themes for me in 2020 and 2021 was to push outside my comfort zone, and that includes colors and techniques.
I realize not everything I make it everyone’s taste, but I think we should all try something new now and again. And using Magenta Madness qualifies as trying something new! 🙂
Probably my favorite thing about this layout is that adorable basket! I just love the die cut, and I love the idea of partially embossing it. I don’t know if I saw that somewhere or dreamed it up, but it’s a great way to add a bit of white and interest to the project.
I did add quite a lot of white to everything to “tone down” all the bright colors a bit.
The title uses the Playful Alphabets dies, done out of leftover bits and pieces from cutting the Pierced Bloom flowers. If you would like to order a kit, I can cut this title, something else, or send you small scraps to cut your own.
The masses of flowers and leaves are from the Pierced Bloom set, one that I love with all that gorgeous stitching detail. It’s a HUGE die set with tons of flowers, leaves and a label. Good news – all the die cutting is done for you with the kits!

With the lockdowns and forced cancellations of classes, I have quite a few of these kits for sale. You will need small word stamps and inks to do the stamping. You may wish to have access to a printer if you want to do the journaling in printed strips; otherwise, you can hand write.
