The One Step That Makes All the Difference in Watercoloring
Today’s share is another watercoloring project using the ink refill technique. For this sample, I’m using the Charming Day stamp and die bundle, a pretty one with open design flowers, perfect for coloring techniques.

The Country Woods papers are really great for just about anything – from flowers to masculine to a rustic Christmas. I just love them!
I also used the Party Banner dies for a layer on the front, while still keeping it interesting. The Party Banner die set is huge, making it suitable for home decor, cards, boxes, and memory keeping. I think they are a worthwhile investment for the long term.

For both the leaves and the flowers, I used this little tip that will make your watercoloring and blending SO much easier: get the paper wet first. In doing that one little thing, your color is already moving and ready to blend when it hits the paper, rather than immediately saturating the initial location.
Bonus Tip: I used Fluid 100 Watercolor paper, which also makes a big difference. Watercolor paper is made of cotton, and designed to accept (and re-accept) a ton of water. The colors will just not blend the same way on a wood-based cardstock.

Please enjoy this 50 second video, showcasing this easy technique. I hope this makes your next watercolor project that little bit more successful!
