This month for the Global Video Hop Team, we decided to feature our beautiful printed papers. I sometimes struggle to use those prints that are what I call “border prints” – the ones that have a print just along two edges. Other than cut and stick to the front of a card base, what else can we do with these?
I came up with three ideas, and today I’m showcasing one of the three ways to use the border prints (other than the cut and use as one piece way).
First, cut into slightly smaller than the usual card front size, then cut into three pieces for an interesting windowpane effect.
I’ve cut mine at 3 5/8 x 5 1/8″.
Then along the short side, cut at 2 1/4″. That piece was then rotated 90 degrees and cut at 3 1/2″.
More detailed instructions and a visual demonstration in the video below.
Simple accents are best when the printed paper is the star of the show. Use those leftover strips and scraps for a simple accent to the sentiment.
The Brushed Brass Butterflies are the perfect accent for a floral print. These are a great alternative to round embellishments, too.
