This month the All Star design team is featuring the Lighter Than Air Suite, and today’s share features this fun set of hot air balloon images and dies used in a different colorway than the suite (papers and embellishments). I’ll also show you how to use the dies in conjunction with embossing paste!
I’ve just used the Hot Air Balloon stamps and dies from the Lighter Than Air Suite, and tried a different colorway.
I wanted to try a rather light and clean card with these fun hot air balloon images, so I started by blending on a very simple sky with Balmy Blue ink. See the video for tips on how to get a nice blend between the white and the blue.
I tried this project with three different colored balloons (Berry Burst, Melon Mambo, and Cherry Cobbler). Which one do you like best?
They are a little hard to see when photographed directly overhead, but after blending the sky, I added clouds with the Shimmery Embossing Paste. They add both texture and sparkle, without being too distracting from the bold balloon.
In my online store, there is Gold and Silver Self-Adhesive Glimmer Paper, which I’ve used here for the detail on the balloon. I love that it already has adhesive on the back, so just cut, peel, and stick!
