One of the many things I love about Stampin’ Up! is the fun, supportive community. And one of the things that has come from that community is the Colour Inkspiration Challenge group! I’m blessed to be part of the design crew there, and am happy to kick off the latest colour challenge with a project to inspire you:
This is certainly a colour combination I wouldn’t have put together on my own, but I do like a challenge:

I started with a watercolor wash of Gray Granite in the background. Watercoloring is a great way to get color, but maybe a much lighter version (I’ve often wished for half strength color cardstock).
Next I used Blending Brushes to add the remaining three colours to that fun Slim Sayings die cut.

The bird image from the Friendly Hello stamp set was perfect for tying all the colors in the background together. Again, using a Water Painter with the inks just toned down all the colors so there’s a nice mix of lights and darks throughout the project.
This color challenge will be up for the next two weeks – please join in! We love to see all your creations.

And please enjoy this video with even more ideas with the Friendly Hello bundle. If you liked this video, please subscribe to my channel and share with your friends! I appreciate it.
Thanks so much for stopping by my stamping studio today! ~ Jacque Williams
Wow Jacque, your watercolour is exquisite, love the bird and the wash behind the lattice. Stunning card!! xx
