Easy Faux Embossing with Your Punches – All Aflutter Butterfly Punch
Faux embossing is quickly becoming a favorite crafting hack, and today’s share features this technique with the new All Aflutter Butterfly Punch!

I really love these butterflies – a nice blend between being very realistic and line art drawing, making these ones perfect for the emboss resist technique. I heat embossed these pretty butterfly images (three on the one stamp), then blended over top with various shades of ink.
Next, simply punch out all three at one time with the All Aflutter punch.

And I do like the faux embossing, also using the same All Aflutter Punch. Simply punch out the same shapes in the same color as the background, and randomly adhere. Trim off any overhang. I also lightly sanded the butterflies, but that step is not necessary, especially if you want a more subtle effect.
By using the same punches (or dies), you get a coordinated background, plus double use from your tools! This is helpful when you want something unique and when you don’t have quite the right folder on hand. These larger butterfly images pair nicely with the smaller dots in the Beach Boardwalk papers.
Let’s be honest – it’s quicker to use a folder, but this technique is easy and gives you a ton more options.
