Welcome to another Blog Hop with the Colour Inkspiration Crew! This challenge I chose to use a stamp set, Cake Crazy, that is typically used with bright, fun colours (see here) and tone them right down with our colour challenge combination:
I hope you will also play along! You can join the Colour Inkspiration Challenge Group HERE.
I incorporated all the colours into the cake layers, but focused on the Pink Pirouette for the card base. I embossed the base with the Hexagon Embossing Folder. Do you notice a bit of Tip Top Taupe ink in the grooves of the hexagons? I sponged a little bit of ink directly onto the folder before embossing so it embossed and inked all at the same time.
I wanted to go a little more vintage with this project, just for something a little bit unexpected with the Cake Crazy stamp set. All the edges are inked lightly with the Tip Top Taupe ink and I roughed up a few edges with my scissors. I also really love to incorporate that Vanilla Lace Trim!
And don’t forget the inside of your card (and your envelope!) to create a “whole package” card! While you have your stamps and ink out, it’s easy to just add a few more coordinating images in the same colours to the rest of your project.
I hope you’ve enjoyed your stop here at my blog! If you live in New Zealand and don’t already have a demonstrator, I’d love to be yours!
Enjoy the rest of your hop! Your next stop is the talented and generous Rebecca Scurr!
Love a vintage card! Your sponging on the hexagon folder is so delicate – just right, and I love the bold surprise on the inside.
Love all the layering on your card, and cake!
Lovely Jacque! The shabby details work beautifully with these colours. xx
