I had a wonderful time at the SENZ papercrafting expo here in Auckland; I hope those of you who also went had an inspirational weekend! Now I’m back to my routine, and today’s share is a pretty duo of cards where you can make both backgrounds at the same time:
These project feature the True Beauty bundle, one that features beautiful “solid” flowers with a watercolored look. I just love the Distinktive images, the ones where you just ink and stamp and the shading is etched right into the stamp! Amazing!
I’ll show you how to do the backgrounds and put together the first card in the short video below.
For the first card, I’ve used the beautiful trellis die from the Organic Beauty dies for the background texture. This not only gives a pattern to the background, but gives something for the flowers on which to visually “hang”.
I love this look, and am thinking this die in particular would work in well with many other images, too.
There are many ways to achieve a unique look with more solid stamps, but for these pretty flowers, I’ve stamped them several times using the Stamparatus. First I stamped them with Highland Heather, then added areas of both Orchid Oasis and Starry Sky by stamping directly over the image several times with the stamp positioner.
For my second card, I used the background created when inking the trellis to make more of a clean and simple card with leftover die cuts. I used the rose image for this one and arranged the little accents around.
I love the idea of having some of the images stamped down flat on the paper, and then others stamped and die cut for a very dimensional look.
