Fold Back Fun Fold Tutorial: 5 Easy Card Ideas + Free Template
Today I’m sharing an easy (but cute!) Fold Back Fun Fold Card that’s simple to make but gives you something a little different from a standard card. I’ve created five different card ideas using the same basic fold so you can see just how versatile this design can be. You’ll find the Fold Back Fun Fold card measurements, a free printable template, and my step-by-step card making video tutorial below, along with plenty of ideas for changing the papers, colours, and embellishments to make this fun fold your own.

For the first sample I made, I used the new Painted Pumpkins bundle, one that I think is just adorable. This set comes with stamps, dies, and stencils (masks). I used just the masks and dies here for a softer look.

Open up the card, and that cute focal image features inside as well! The Rustic Check embossing folder also coordinates well with these. To be fair, I think this folder is very neutral and works with quite a few moods and images.

I just love these curly pumpkin vines, and I plan to use these images and dies for my Thanksgiving table this year. But I love them just as much in these non-traditional colors of pinks and dark blues (Secret Sea).

Using the same size and orientation to the card, I switched to Cloud Cover for the card base and the Pretty Poinsettias bundle for the main image. But, as you can see, I still loved the Rustic Check folder with this.

I also brought in a bit of the hot foil, something I’m coming to really enjoy the more I use it. I used the Botanical Glow stamp and hot foil on the front, and the stamp on the inside of the card.
And for the words, the Magical Christmas hot foil dies are hard to beat. I love how it foils 7 fesetive sentiments in one go, and then cuts them out with such beautiful detail. I particularly love this one with the fine cutting around the words.

For the next sample, I kept the card a standard size, but changed the orientation to open along the short side, which is quite fun and something a bit different.
I went back to one of my favorites: Cutest Crew. Who doesn’t love a cute row of kittens or puppies?

I paired these cuties with the Beautiful, Ordinary Life papers. These ones are fun – they have a fresh, watercolored effect on one side, and black and white prints on the other.

Next I made a square version, this time putting the opening along the left hand side. I used the Valley in Bloom papers with the Lily of the Valley stamps and dies. I think this one turned out so pretty!

I used the “side B’s” on the front of the card, but then went with one of the gorgeous lily prints for a pop of fun on the inside. I think these papers are just gorgeous – both sides!

And last, I made another Christmas card with the Graceful Evergreen deer bundle, a set of hot foil dies, dies, and a tree stamp set. I’ve always been partial to tree and deer images, so this one was a must on my list.

I also included the new Softly Woven folder, another really useful one that gives a very tight weave.

I did make a free PDF with some basic measurements for this fold back style card. You can download your copy using this form:
