Easy 6×6 One Sheet Wonder Card – One Measurement, Two Cuts

Today’s share is a fun, easy one sheet wonder concept with using a 6×6 printed paper – and with no waste! You only need one measurement and to make two cuts for four unique pieces, one for each card front.

These four sided pieces can be fit into any of the corners, using either side of the printed paper, and/or the piece itself can be rotated around for a different effects. These options work particularly well when you have a directional print, like the Velvet Meadow print I used above.

For this version, I selected a square card front (my personal favorite size), and added a few of the velvet flowers right from the Velvet Meadow printed paper pack.

I also added the Dreamy Flowers embellishments. I know it’s a lot of flowers on flowers here, but the fairly large white space helps to break it up, or “rest the eye”, as it’s termed in design circles. In addition, the different textures and intensities of color help visually break up the elements.

For the next sample, I moved the paper to the upper right hand corner, and this time added just two flowers and some stamped greenery. It also helps to have a little color or white circle or label behind the flowers; I felt they showed up better with a solid color between the flower die cuts and the floral paper print.

These same designs work beautifully on a standard sized card, too. I did basically the same concepts with the same size of the printed paper to create a somewhat different effect.

It’s difficult to photograph, but the Velvet Meadow papers have a beautiful, flocked detailing on them. Gorgeous! Reminds me of my childhood. And I love the shiny embellishments in contrast with the flocked texture.

For these samples, I also cut a 6×6 Cloud Cover cardstock in exactly the same way. I then just offset it under the printed paper to create that soft border. You can see a small gap on one corner, but I actually quite like that off set look, like two pieces of paper on the corner of a table.
