Embossing Folder Tip: How to Emboss a Large Piece without Getting a Seam
Hello! And welcome to another Global Video Hop. This month we are all focusing on ways to use embossing folders. I’ve been sharing in my classes a fun tip on how to emboss cardstock larger than your folder without getting a seam, so my share is a demonstration video of this easy technique.
Sometimes you will want to use one of the mini folders (3 1/4″ wide) for a full sized card. Or use a standard embossing folder for a square card. Or, as above, any of the folders on a slimline card.
If you’ve tried to emboss in two sections before, you may have ended up with a line or a seam where the two portions join. The hard line is actually caused by the edge of the embossing folder itself, and it’s easy to bypass.
Simply use a standard or mini machine embossing plate, placed in such a way that the edge of the folder doesn’t receive any pressure! Quick demonstration below.
