I’ve always enjoyed the effect of two-step stamping (stamping two or more images on top of each other), and the new Two Toned Flora bundle ticks all the boxes! I was inspired by a beautiful birthday card I received last year from Elizabeth Gross, and wanted to try her idea of stamping right on colored cardstock with the new Two Toned Flora images.
I tried this effect out first on Sahara Sand cardstock, using Calypso Coral and Evening Evergreen inks. It’s still fairly bold, but certainly muted compared to stamping on Basic White cardstock.
I chose the colors for the flowers from the canvas-like Fancy Flora paper pack (a strip of the paper is behind the flowers).
Next, I tried the same card on Crumb Cake for an even more subdued effect. I used a slightly different print. The Fancy Flora papers aren’t uniform, so I think every strip would have different proportions of the colors.
I used a simple masking technique to get the leaves to appear “behind” the flowers. It’s so nice when the flowers come with a matching die; this makes making a mask so easy.

Hi Magda! Sure that’s no problem. I thought I had on the video, but when looking back, no, I hadn’t!! The stamped panel measures 4 x 3 inches. the card base is 8 1/4 x 5 1/2″. I think that’s what you’d need. :).

Beautiful cards. Love the muted look stamped on the Sahara Sand. Will have to try this technique. Thanks for sharing.
