I made this layout by request from a dear friend who wanted that tropical, even New Zealand, feel to it. I thought these tropical dies were perfectly paired with the Wood Textures Papers . . . okay what dies don’t pair well with these papers?!
I went for more neutral coloured photos, to not be too over powering in colour with the bright flowers. Beach photos are both neutral in colour and perfect, of course, with the tropical feel of these images and dies.
I played around a bit with these elements and was finally happy with a spray arrangement over the main photo. Three hibiscus plus a lot of greenery. I really love these bright, fun colours together and in just the right amount.
This bundle also has coordinating embellishments – little wooden looking flowers and leaves – which coordinate nicely without competing.
The little Corrugated Embellishments make a lovely complimentary accent to the bright colours, too. I was in a particularly loving mood and have hearts and love all over this layout of my wedding.
Also – those Large Letters dies are worth the investment. They are a wonderful size for bold title, initials, and great for doing the Eclipse Technique on cards.
The complementing page is a series of 3″ squares with the same colours and embellishments to tie it all together. I enjoyed making this one, and enjoyed teaching it at my scrapbooking classes in September. Join me this Saturday in Nelson or 13 October in Hamilton to make this layout! I’m also available for private bookings – minimum 4 students in Auckland or 6 outside of Auckland. I can help invite people, too, if needed.
