Ever since I was a child, I’ve just adored cats. So when the Love Cats stamp set came out, of course it was first on the list! It’s a particularly cute set with playful images that are somewhere between cartoon and realistic.
I designed this project to teach at the Auckland Extravaganza event, which I teach with a few of my fellow Creative Inkers Team members. Join us for the next event!
I wanted to use all three adorable cat images, so stamped all three on stitched circles from the Stylish Shapes die set.
For the sample pictured above, I used Memento Black ink. I made more versions with the other colors of the In-Color Twine, and black embossed the cats instead. This made them shiny and really dark black for a little more texture and contrast.
Adding a fun ball of yarn is really easy, and adds a bit of fun and texture to the cats. As mentioned above, I used all five of the colors of the In-Color Twine for variety. All of them looks great, but in the classes where I taught this one, the Parakeet Party (lime green) was by far the most popular.

Thanks so much for sharing this lovely card. Could I please ask how you did the tail of the cat on the right of the card? Did you add a fussy cut tail where it extends past the edge of the circle? I am planning to make this for my daughter’s birthday, she will absolutely love it!
