I was inspired by a Fresh Cut Flowers sample Stampin’ Up! shared, and upon close examination, realized they had used a different coloring technique. I know not everyone loves to color in, so I hope this idea gives you another option for adding color to your images.
First of all, I love the background. I don’t often think to do this, but try using a different color ink than the cardstock for a bit of inking.
I’ve embossed with the Brick and Tile Embossing Folder on Gray Granite cardstock. Next I inked over the top directly with the Soft Suede ink pad.
How to Color with a Mask:
- Stamp image
- Create a mask by cutting the coordinating die out of a scrap paper
- Lay the mask (the die cut paper) over the image. Secure with magnets or washi tape.
- Lightly add color to the image with Sponge Daubers and light ink.
- Depending on your image, go back and add more exact coloring with Stampin’ Blends or other medium.
