Welcome to my blog and to the Grand Vacation Hawaiian Blog Hop! You may have just hopped here from the talented Kim Gavarra, whom I am also pleased to call my friend.
We are so excited to share 30 Hawaiian themed projects with you AND just as excited to actually go to Hawaii (squeal!!) in just a few short weeks!
I looked up many Hawaiian photos for inspiration, and ended up being most inspired by the gorgeous travel pack Stampin’ Up! sent the achievers last week. Loved the fresh combination of Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Crushed Curry, along with a bit of burlap and white.
And these Take Out Boxes were sitting on my table . . .
I used the By the Tide stamp set to coordinate with the little travel bag as a start.
This sentiment from Really Good Greetings (retiring), and was just perfect to express how I’m feeling right now: working from home, a great husband, paid vacations .. . I have so much to be grateful for at this time.
Next I pulled out the Flower Fair Framelits and worked a little magic with the dies to create these fun embellishments. Added a few Bird Builder Punch leaves in Mossy Meadow plus some of that really cool Pompom Trim. It’s a bit tricky to tie, but super as a bit of a “dangle”.
As a finish, I’ve added a few of those Bermuda Bay (favorite color) sequins and some swirls of Calypso Coral “string”. Where did I find that? Have a look at this Calypso Coral Seam Binding Ribbon:
