Rolled Paper Flowers for Scrapbooking: How to Make Easy Paper Roses for Layouts and Cards
Rolled paper flowers are one of those papercrafting techniques many people admire from afar, assuming they’re fiddly or time-consuming. In reality, they’re far simpler than they look. Once you’ve made one or two, rolled paper roses quickly become a reliable go-to embellishment—easy to create, forgiving to work with, and perfect for adding texture and interest to cards and scrapbook layouts without overcomplicating your project.
For today’s project, I’m sharing a recent scrapbooking layout featuring the Hobby Haven papers and these beautiful rolled flowers.

This is my very first layout of my first grandchild, so I wanted the colours to feel soft, gentle, and perfect for a baby-themed page.
The Hobby Haven papers include designs inspired by books, plants, sewing, spa days, and cooking, which makes them surprisingly versatile. They work beautifully not just for this layout, but for projects that can be tailored to a person’s individual interests as well.

The sentiment and label shape come from the Creative Haven stamp and die bundle. I often find that just a small touch of black adds the right amount of contrast, helping the softer colours really stand out without overpowering the design.
The rolled flowers are a lovely addition to the wreath and also tie in nicely with the book theme. They’re perfect for using up coordinating paper scraps, and all you really need is a pair of scissors.
I did use a circle punch to get started, but it’s absolutely not essential. You can easily cut a circle by hand, and it doesn’t need to be perfect — a slightly uneven edge actually makes the flowers look more natural.

Page two was inspired by a couple of layouts I spotted on Pinterest, and I was drawn to the clean, simple style. To keep everything cohesive, I used the same colour palette as the facing page, along with repeating elements like the black tag, book imagery, and those soft rolled paper flowers.
If you’d like to give memory keeping a try, I’ll be teaching this layout at my upcoming classes:
