It’s almost Christmas, and one thing Stampin’ Up! (and we) love to do is community service projects! The past few weeks, Stampin’ Up! has partnered with the New Zealand Sending Love programme to make Christmas cards for those who might be alone this holiday, such as people in rest homes, prisons, hospitals, and so forth.
I was able to host a working bee for a couple of hours where about 14 others came and made simple Christmas cards with me to donate to this wonderful organization:
Most of the volunteers did not have any or much crafting expertise or experience, so I wanted these projects to be something they could do successfully, while also giving them a little wiggle room to be creative.
The above card with the Festive Farmhouse papers gave them lots of different prints to change it up and arrange differently. It was really fun to see how they played around with it once they made a few just like mine.
In addition, these were actually just leftover strips and scraps from making an album earlier in the year with these papers – bits and pieces that might have ended up just going in the bin are now going to bring a smile to many faces.
The second project I had going is a long-standing “go to” design. I used some leftover kits from another card (bonus points anyone who can email me which card!) and added a small piece of the gorgeous First Frost papers and a bit of ribbon.
This card was perfect for beginning stampers with only a sentiment to stamp on the front and inside the card.
It was great fun and I loved sharing what I do with so many new people who had a great time learning a few skills, too. I think we will do this every year!
Don’t forget:
Thanks for stopping by!
