Not only do we have the five new 2024 In Colors the year, but Stampin’ Up! has also added in a new color to the basics range: Basic Beige!
This new color is a lot lighter than Crumb Cake, and less yellow than Very Vanilla. I’ve paired it here with Basic Black and a few bright colors with the Simply Zinnias bundle;
For these samples, I used both Poppy Parade and the new Petunia Pop for a splash of happy brightness against the neutrals. I like the look of the Basic Beige with the accent of black.
I colored the flowers in with Stampin’ Blends for a vibrant effect. I kept the rest of the card fairly simple, accenting with just a little Linen Thread and two dragonflies.
I also made a version with the new Summer Splash, this time accenting with the In Color Shimmer Gems (available 1 May).
To show how the ink looked, I also stamped the Basic Beige cardstock with the Basic Beige ink using the Textured Timber stamp set. This is a really good one for adding visual texture to backgrounds or to images.
At this stage, we don’t have Basic Beige Stampin’ Blends, so I used Crumb Cake for the stems. You could color them in Old Olive, but I wanted to bring that color through so it all tied together nicely. Crumb Cake is not the same, but it is a brown with a green base, similar to Basic Beige, so it tones in nicely. Maybe we will get Basic Beige Stampin’ Blends in the future.
