This month there is a fun bingo challenge in the Scrapbooking Global Facebook group. I needed to create a masculine layout and also wanted to go with a steampunk theme, just for fun.
The idea is to create a layout using three of these elements in any row. I’ve gone with sponging edges, using three patterned papers, and two or more photos:
I’ve been hoarding the “concrete” background paper from the In Good Taste series, thinking it would be the perfect backdrop for a page with my husband (he’s a builder). It’s also a great background for the cogs in the Garage Gears dies.

I loved working with all the foils (gold, silver, and copper). It looks really great to mix them all together for a fun steampunk look.
I also brought in the Well Suited Designer Series Papers, which went well with the photos. The small prints in these papers are great for die cuts and for borders.

Just to fill out the gears, I’ve added the Gilded Gems and the Matte Black Dots. Both of these are a great choice for a more masculine layout (or any project for the guys).

I’ve put a hidden journaling section under two of the photos. I might put more photos in there, but it’s also a good place to write a longer story or more personal feelings and thoughts. It’s a great way to put in those photos that maybe aren’t so great, but still tell part of the story.
