Hi, scrapbookers! Today’s share is quick post, just in the nick of time before the end of the Jan-June Mini Catalogue! I had a lot of fun creating with both the Heart & Home (woodgrain) and the Flowering Fields (tulips) paper packs for a beautiful layout combination.
The first page is a re-make of one I created many years back, but I design I really like. It’s a good layout to feature one special photo.
I have a hidden journaling tag behind the photo, which also adds a bit of an embellishment in the overall design.
A hidden tag is great when you’re not super happy with your own handwriting, or perhaps have a lot to say that would otherwise be distracting on the page.
I often don’t remember this as an option, but stamping right on the printed papers can be very effective. These nice swirls from Sentimental Swirls create a nice contrast with the stripes in the Heart & Home woodgrain papers.
I love how every single print in the Heart & Home paper pack has a wood print on the back. This makes them all very useful!
On the second page, I took all the same prints and created more of a simple, vertical design that accommodated more photos.
I didn’t get it in the photos, but the small doily piece on the side actually pulls out for more journaling and photos. I had another photo of Miss Madeleine covered in mud and crying . . . I just had to include it, but at least hid it away for her benefit.
If you love butterflies, the Brilliant Wings dies are good ones for scrapbookers to have on hand. A little butterfly here and there is often just the right thing instead of more flowers.
