This month the All Star Design team is featuring the Abigail Rose Suite, a beautiful collection of subtle, elegant images and colors. I’ve really had fun creating with this one! Today’s share is the project I showcased on a recent Facebook Live, this time varying a little from the suite colors:
I had a lot of strips of this beautiful Abigail Rose papers, and wanted to use them for sort of a patchwork quilt background look. These prints are fairly small and subtle, so they are just right to use even in smaller pieces. I love this combination of Smoky Slate and Crumb Cake.
I took my idea for this flower right from a catalog sample. Rather than using the largest Cottage Rose die as a floral spray, take the pieces and stack them up for a more dimensional flower.
I chose to create a watercolored paper for some great color variation before cutting. I love doing this, and I just love the finished look. I’m looking forward to sharing more about watercoloring at my upcoming Techniques & Tea class!
