How to Create Faux Snow on a Christmas Card
Hi, stamping friends! Today’s share is a quick Christmas card, inspired by a technique Krista Frattin to create a subtle, snowy look on your projects. Of course, this look could be used not only for snow, but even to soften an image or even just to make it more textural: (is that a word?)
I really love how this looks . . . The technique Krista shared is basically this:
- Stamp the bough image in the Classic ink.
- Quickly cover with the White Embossing Powder.
- Brush of flick off some of the powder (if necessary) so there is just a bit of powder, not completely covering the image
- Heat until shiny and set
Here is the complete card – a simple design, but with interesting details. I used the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder for the background – not just for the foil papers. It looks great with cardstock, too! And I think this one will lend itself well to more masculine themed projects.
That cute little bird is from the Botanical Tags dies. A splash of red never goes amiss with Christmas cards! And I just love this new Come to Gather Ribbon combo pack; the wide Crumb Cake ribbon makes even a simple project feel more rich!
Check out another card I made with the Peaceful Boughs bundle!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
