Try this “much easier than it looks” 9 Patch Quilting technique for someone who loves quilting! It’s also a great way to use up those bits and pieces of pretty papers we all have. For today’s sample, I’ve used the Boughs of Holly papers for an elegant Christmas card.
For the 9 Patch Quilting technique, you’ll want to select prints that are fairly small because some of the pieces end up being small squares. To make your printed papers go further and to add interest, add in some specialty paper, such as the Distressed Gold Paper I’ve used here.
Just like a fabric quilt, it’s a nice detail to add texture or stitching over the top of the patchwork. I’ve used the Pines folder from the Wintry Folder pack, but the Stitched Greenery die is also a great choice. It adds “real” stitching right onto the project.
