Today’s share is a fairly quick card I made with the Painted Lavender stamp and die set, but wanted to make a card without any purple on it. I feel like these images could be hollyhocks or something else in an abstract way.
I am finding I use the Perennial Postage dies quite a lot; they are such a good, general shape, but still quite interesting and fun. For this project, I cut the die out of a scrap paper and used the outline to create my own mask for the background.
Then simply blend through color. I used Balmy Blue here. While leaving the mask in place, stamp the bottom flowers.
By following this simple process, the entire background follows the postage stamp shape.
Two-step stamping always adds such amazing detail to the images; it’s probably what totally sold me on Stampin’ Up! way back in the day (back when we had to line them up using wood blocks!). The flowers are actually three images: two floral ones and the stamp. Add them all together for a super quick, colorful image.
