The new Country Woods Suite is a fast favorite in the new Annual Catalogue, and today’s share features the Country Flowers stamps and dies, along with the Country Woods papers. I like the look of wood slats or planks, so here’s a very easy way to create them with the more “solid” wood prints:
I cut the wood print paper into about 1″ strips, then laid them down on the Early Espresso card base. I roughed up the edges to create even more of a delineation between the slats, but you could leave them clean, as you prefer.
For this variation, I laid the planks down on Basic White, which I personally prefer. I do like a lot of white in my projects to make the colours more vibrant.
I also switched out the flowers to try another look.
I was particularly pleased with how this pail worked out. I colored the pail with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends, then added just a little detail with the new Summer Splash Stampin’ Blends.
Each of these three cards are just a little different with the same slatted background. With the sample below, I used the wood print from the Country Woods papers that has just a bit of a peach tinge to it:
