I love how Stampin' Up! is continually giving us brand new product! We all fell in love with the sand-able Core'Dinations cardstock last Seasonal Catalogue, and in this catalogue we have it in three more colours. (Primrose Petals, Real Red, and Pool Party). What a yummy combo those three are, too.
My scrapbooking group requested a vintage layout, so I went sort of mid-way. My photos I wanted to use are quite "clean", and I wanted to keep them that way. But you/I can still add some vintage elements without going 100% antique.
I used a Nic Howard layout ( see below) as the inspiration for my layout, although mine did not turn out a great deal like hers, just the basic layout of the photos and elements is the same.
I find it quite fun to use something as a springboard, but using your style, your supplies, and your colours, the finished product can be quite different!
I used the Pool Party Core'Dinations cardstock and the Vine STreet Embossing Folder here to ceate a small accent element. Also the words from Sweet Essentials were perfect for me here, but there are plenty of other sayings in the set to suit other photos. I realize not many will be necessarily scrapping wedding photos!
The details here on the lower left hand corner were so fun to make. The flower is made using the Blossom Party Die, some glimmer spritz, and a bit of Pink Pirouette ink.
The ribbon flowers are the best value and the most fun in the Seasonal Mini – just $14.50 for 100 of them! And so fun to spritz and colour to suit your project. I've already gone through one or two or three packs . . .
Love the butterflies . . . always a spot for a butterfly. I did this using the Rock & Roll technique to achieve the multi-coloured look to the babe. Lots of pearls to finish this off.
And here is the original artwork by Nic Howard
