Welcome to another round of Colour Inkspiration Challenge! We’d love to have your participation; simply join in over the next 3 weeks with your design using the colour combination provided!
Some of you may know, my eldest daughter, Madeleine, is in the United States serving a mission for our church. She’s a bit homesick and becoming more proud of her Kiwi upbringing, so I decided I’d use this colour challenge to create a large card for some of our friends to sign as part of her Christmas package:
I wanted to make her something a little bit more summery, yet still traditional. I’ve chosen to use the Season Like Christmas stamp set, one of my favorites from the Holiday Catalogue. How great is a three step tree?! And at only $36 NZD, this one is a bargain!
In hindsight, I think I will add a bit of colour to those pearls (now that we can!!) with the Bronze Stampin’ Blends.
The Blossom Builder Punch has a cute little flower shape that also resembles a starfish. And even better, this punch is on discount here in the South Pacific this week only! (See links and shopping list below).
The sand I used here is actually sand . . . . Let’s hope it gets through customs!
Thanks for stopping by my blog here in New Zealand! Supply list below. Enjoy the rest of your hop! Next stop: Lou Kitzelman!

great card Jacque- and I’m guessing that one can be homesick for the familiarities of family even if you haven;t left the driveway… I know how hard it is when your children are away. She will love the card, and all that it represents. I hope she is having a wonderful experience and comes home safely soon.
That tree really pops on this card Jacque love the sand addition to give it texture, I am sure your daughter is having an amazing time what an experience for her! X
Fantastic creation, Jacque. I adore the layered elements, especially the punched flower starfish – so clever. The sandy layer won my heart as I am a huge beach lover, especially NZ beaches (Mount Maunganui in particular! – my hometown) Such a wonderful card to send to your daughter to remind her of home.
