It’s been a while since I’ve been able to participate in the Colour Inkspiration Color Challenge – between travelling to New Orleans for BackStage and some big classes I’ve put on, time just ran short. But I do so love a color challenge! It’s easy to stick to the colors we know and like, and I believe part of being creative is finding a way to use new colors in a pleasing way.
About twice a month, the Colour Inkspiration Crew posts a new colour challenge, and everyone is invited to create with those colors (or similar) and share their projects. Today we kick off another challenge with the above colors. Join in and play along – or join in and enjoy the creations!
I’ve chosen to use the Abigail Rose Suite:
My sample is inspired by a sample right out of the catalogue, a place I am finding more and more inspiration these days. Take a concept, and switch it up a little to suit your own style and preferences. Even the simple ideas often have a little technique or new idea to them.
If you live in New Zealand, don’t work already with a demonstrator, and would like a copy, please request one here.
The flowers in this card are right from the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper. The die in the Cottage Rose bundle cuts these out, perfectly lined up with the print. However, I’ve cut the die out of white cardstock and placed it over top of the papers for a subtle dimensional effect.
The flowers have just a whiff of the Mango Melody blended on top.
