Today’s card features the split negative technique, and it’s a wonderful idea to also create a card that celebrates equality, diversity, mixed relationships, and adoption. It’s good to say these things out loud, from every side, and particularly from those who have had a life of relative privilege.
I’ve used a very special stamp set here, Beautiful Moments. It’s one that I had the honour of inspiring. It’s a celebration of sisters, daughters, aunts, nieces, grandmothers, mothers, and best friends.
I stamped the girls in opposite colours, which can be a neat stamping technique, but can also be a wonderful card for any relationships with mixed race, including adoption.
The words are from the Rooted in Nature stamp set, and are excellent words for any sort of celebration or encouragement. I’ve also used these on a scrapbooking page.
I positioned the girls so their hands were exactly in the middle of the Watercolor paper. A heart outline in a bright color was just the right element to highlight their adjoined hands.
