I’m so fortunate to have a large craft room (previously known as “the garage”) that it generally doesn’t get too bad. BUT before Christmas this year, it was an absolute bomb site in the last few weeks of the Christmas rush!
Let me scare you with a few before photos:
Maybe a handful of you can relate . . . . .
Being creative can be messy! Even the cat was keeping her feet up off the ground.
And let’s be honest – it’s depressing and not very inspiring to work in a room like this! If everyone where you look, there is a mess to clean or a project to do, the mind just gets tired and overwhelmed. And that’s not fun at all!
So . . I spent quite a bit of time cleaning out every single drawer and shelf. I donated some, sold some at a very popular garage sale, and found a home for anything I decided was still useful and inspirational to me.
And here is the result:
A clean floor and a clear table space – these are key for my sanity and creativity!
Everything has a place in a container or a drawer.
It’s also important to have items that are inspiring around you – colour, quotes, art, and fabulous products !
I didn’t think to take a picture of this cupboard before, but let’s just say I couldn’t get the doors closed. Now it’s a happy, organized, colourfully inspiring place!
My room has now become a haven of crafting and stamping fun again!
On that note, I’m having an Open House right here in this studio (and in the lounge and sun room) this coming Saturday, 11 February. I’d love to have you come along, even if you’ve never been before! My studio is located in Birkenhead, Auckland. Drop in between 10-1pm to make a couple of projects, look at new displays and products, have a cuppa, shop among my retired Stampin’ Up! products, and take away the new Occasions catalogue! Fun! and FREE!
Please rsvp your attendance to jacque@stamphappy.co.nz or text 021 128 9923. I hope you can make it and please bring a friend!
