Welcome to another Colour Inkspiration Challenge kick off! For the next two weeks, you are invited to create a project using three of the five new in-colours:
Feel free to join the Colour Inkspiration group to share your project or to simply enjoy everyone’s creations. We’d love to have you there!
For my project, I chose Copper Clay, Boho Blue, and Moody Mauve:
I kept the design quite simple to showcase the striking alcohol ink background. The Grove Dies are fantastic over all sorts of background techniques.
I used the Stampin’ Blends (alcohol markers) to apply the ink onto the back of vellum, starting with Copper Clay at the bottom, Moody Mauve in the middle, and Boho Blue at the top.
How to Create the Alcohol Ink Background Technique
- Scribble alcohol markers onto cardstock weight vellum.
Each one will turn out differently. Have a few pieces to experiment.
- Spritz or sprinkle 70% isopropyl alcohol onto the ink.
Try more or less for different effects.
- Let the ink blend as it will and dry naturally, or use a heat tool to “push” the ink around for more of a puddling effect.
Nothing is the wrong way; just try different ways of drying and letting the inks move to see what you like best.
